When you purchase a car "as is" means that there could be an underlying trouble with said car...It may be a good idea to pass it up, or look it up on www.carfax.com...They do charge for this service, however, and I beieve it is at least $12.00...I hope I explained this fairly well for you...
Good luck!

If your talking about something that is for sale such as a car, it means there is no warranty. If there is something wrong with the idem, doesn't work, or it breaks the seller excepts no responsibility to pay for any of the cost of repairs or replacement.

Most often used with automobiles for sale. As is. Means just that. If you drive it home, and it falls apart, too bad. If it explodes into a million pieces, too bad, you own all the pieces.

What you see is what you get. You buy it in the condition as it is. The seller has no obligation to fix any problems the vehicle may have. Check over the vehicle very carefully before buying it "as is".

"as is" is what I'm reading into your question and it means there are no improvements made on the car and you take it as it is because the owner won't do anything to improve on it before he sells it...unless you're handy with cars or have the money to invest into a car that is "as is" you're at a loss.

you purchase the vehicle in the condition it is in, in most cases this is not certified and not safetied. You can't go back to the previous owner, to get him to cover repairs. It is "as is" just like it sounds.

Usually it means if it has problems and you buy it, they are offering no warranty and taking no responsibility. Be careful.
