You will also find some very classy Mexican department store chains like Palacio de Hierro and Liverpool as well as some very high level boutiques and more moderate stores like Suburbia and Sears.

If you want to spend money shopping for nice stuff, Cancun will definitely accommodate!

No there's not, but there is a Walmart & Sams. Most stores have touristy stuff unless you go into town and then it is cheap stuff for the locals. There is acouple of stores on the strip that have some high end clothes but you won't find them as bargains; they'll probably be higher than what you get in the states. Best to buy before you go; things aren't a bargain like they use to be.

Ha Ha. Mexico MAY be turning into just another state of the USA, but I'm afraid the stores haven't caught up yet. Home Depot, Walmart, Kmart are there now... Give it time and department stores will be next.
