The world did in fact end at midnight on December 31 1999, only most people haven't noticed yet.

You will find the answer in the New Testament at Mathew chapter 24 and the Old testament Daniel chapter 12. Revelation is taking place now, compare what you find in the Bible readings above with any newspaper.Bear in mind that Revelation is a symbolic book written by John ( same author as 4th Gospel ) after a series of visions, while on the island of Patmos. Some of it has already taken place, the Old Testament is littered with prophecy which was fulfilled in The New Testament. ie' Jesus, His last words on the cross Psalm 22 v1, Isaiah 53, tells about the crucifiction (centuries before it was invented). There are many more examples but time does not permitt me to go into them. However the point I'm trying to make is, all the answers are in the Bible, I would suggest a Bible study would help.

First, no one is supposed to know the date, according to the Bible, and second, I don't think Revelation was referring to the future. I think John of Patmos, who was writing it to three Greek churches, was just warning them to not become too Romanized. The Greeks of the time used a type of numerology to refer to different people, and one of the people who was most hated by the Jews, Nero, had the number 666. Another spelling of his name gave him 626, and that's the number used in an earlier version of Revelation. It almost wasn't even included in the New Testament, because the Bishops of Nicea, who made the determination, felt it strayed too far from Jesus' message, and it was written too long after the other books (around 300 A.D.).
And for those of you who say it's the same John who wrote the Gospel of John, I disagree. John of Patmos' Greek is much worse than that John, and he writes in a completely different style.

Why do people think that the Book of Revelation was written for our time?
The early Christian community had their own problems and couldn't care less about what was going to happen in the 21st. Century. In fact, they didn't even think that the world was going to last this long.
The Book of Revelation is not a blue-print of the future. It was written for the early Christians and everything in Revelation has already come to pass, except for the Second Coming. Of that it is written, no one knows.

Experts in numerology use the numbers to determine the best time for major moves and activities in life. Numerology is used to decide when to invest, when to marry, when to travel, when to change jobs, or relocate. Numerology is an occult science and for me it's fascinating. It is perhaps the easiest of the occult arts to understand and use. All you need is the birth date and the complete name of an individual to unlock all of the secrets that the numbers hold.

Only God knows when the end of the world is coming. Many people have predicted it through the centuries, always thinking it was going to happen in their lifetime, as many people do today. Authors Jenkins and LaHaye have several books on this topic. They seem to think the end of the world could come any day now. But the truth is, even though we all wish that we knew, nobody does.

There is no set day or year mentioned only a set of cercomstances that are supposied to happen first.
I don't think it has happned yet as some of the answerers seem to think. with the second coming and the establisment of the kingdom of heaven on earth.the world is supposed to be transformed. don't see any change now or in the near future.
However Jesus did say that none shall know the day of my coming as i will come as athief in the night to judge the quick and the dead. I translate that to mean that we will face our own time of Judgement when we die.

There was no date for Rvelation. Most of the stuff in Revelation happened in the 5th century AD so the rest may be soon or centuries off or may never happen.

If you are referring to the notorious Day of Judgment, it is today. That's right. Today is the Day of Judgment. Today and every day. Each moment it begins and ends.
For those who worry about where they will stand on that Day, ask yourselves, "Where do I stand right now, this moment?" Or better yet, "Take no thought for the morrow, sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof."
We are speaking figurative language here. That is the only way to speak about spiritual matters. So please don't worry about when it will happen. It really is happening right now. Everything happens right now; time is an illusion fostered by our human limitations.
Does this help at all? I hope so.
