Ive been told its the lowest form of wit but I don't know if I agree with that. Some of it is just so clever.

There are no good examples of sarcasm. Sarcasm is all terrible and should never be used!

In my experience, people who say sarcasm is the lowest form of wit and mean it, are usually saying it because they can't think of a witty response to a sarcastic comment, and therefore have to resort to condemning the other person's comment in a "holier than thou" kind of way.

It's what you really want to say, but don't want to appear rude. It's thinly veiled truth. Can be ironic (sorry if your american, look it up)

(it's to do with the tone of voice as well, really - you have to sound sneering)
