I've got a Squier Fender Stratocaster Standard, is it much worst than Fender Stratocaster?

I'm a beginner and not very rich so my father gave me that.
I wonder know if that guitar is at the same level of the original fender stratocaster like Eric Johnson uses and SRV

In so far as construction and electronics, no it's not of the same quality as what Eric Johnson uses or SRV used however, both artists have at one time or another used and or promoted certain signature series pickups from Fender, it would be an inexpensive way to clean up the tone of your strat by switching out the stock pickups that came with your guitar for something a little hotter like the Fender Custom shop Texas Special Strat Pickup set, it's $138.00 on musicians friends websiteor the Fender Vintage Noiselss Strat Pickup set for $129.00 which might help you get rid of that annoying 60 cycle hum all strats have. In the same price range as the afore mentioned set they also have a 1969 Custom Shop pickup set for a more vintage tone so. for less that $150 you could have a really sweet tone and if you ever decide to sell the guitar you could always put the stock pickups back in it.

The Squier Strat is perfectly fine for a beginner's guitar. That is what my first electric guitar was and I would recommend the same to anyone else wanting to learn how to play.

The one thing it is not however is a professional level guitar. You have to remember that someone who is going to make a living from playing music usually has a higher end instrument.

i remember a guitar magazine having a review of the squier strat standard about 5 years ago and commenting that it's alright for a beginner's guitar.
