UNPLUG THE LAMP FIRST. Using pliers and wearing a leather work glove, break the bulb, and after clearing the debris, shove the tip of the pliers into the base and unscrew it. A little Vaseline on the bulb will prevent this.

Did you get the lamp shade off? If so, I use a pair of pliers to do this. Grab a hold of the side piece or a piece you can get a hold of, and twist. Make sure the lamp is NOT pugged in when you do this.

What do you mean stuck?
Is the bulb just screwed in too tight?
Is it broken?
I have had broken bulbs that I had to remove with pliers or even by splitting the aluminum in the bulb base to get it out.
