Too many to remember. Traveling for a year with my parents and brothers, we used them a lot. I remember, those cloth towels on a roll hanging down to the floor just filthy brown. The toilets unflushed, wet paper on the floor, graffiti, flaky paint, dripping ceilings, overflowing trash, stinky.......
Even the outside of the door and the side of the gas station where you had to wait was gross.
Now as an adult, if I am deeply asleep and I have to go to the bathroom, my mind starts dreaming about the grossest gas station bathroom until I wake up. Then I am so glad that I am home!

In dead western Kansas, there was a dimly-lit bathroom in a gas station with brown, streaky walls and the handle for the toilet was a WIRE, but it didn't flush anyway. The sink was not a sink. It was a water spout ON THE WALL that ran INTO A DRAIN. It was SO TERRIBLE.

Why do you care? If you want to know so badly, go to one and find out yourself.
