Actually, it's ironic that you should ask that question here. ATT/Yahoo has a high speed Internet option where you can opt for a wireless router (which could also be connected by USB and Ethernet to a desktop computer). There is the initial setup where you need to connect the laptop to the router to establish the network key (either via ethernet or USB), but after that you have your own mini hot spot. If you establish the service online you even get a rebate with the router, plus a special monthly rate for the service for the first year. Check it out!

And no, I don't work for Yahoo or ATT -- I just happen to be a very satisfied customer with exactly the same setup!

Answer number 1 - in an apartment building you may be able to tap into some elses wireless connection. Even better get their permission and share costs

Answer number 2 - you will have to pay for DSL or Cable internet access and buy yourself a wireless router box.

I would recommend waiting until you have moved in and then talk to your neighbors to see what they do about internet access.

Get your internet connection, can be either DSL or Cable(from a cable tv company or phone company), and hook the Cable/DSL modem up to a wireless router, and get or make sure your laptop has a wireless network card. Here is a link that will hopefully explain it to you alot more then I can. Hope it helps:)

Most apartments have Ethernet or some sort of HighSpeed availiable... you just buy a Wireless router and plug that into the Ethernet jack or into the Cable/DSL modem.
