As far as cocaine in general, who knows. Remember that cocaine was legal for a long time, well past the middle of the century. Considering that in his time in Germany, meth was around, and when he was in America it was fashionable to wear a coke spoon on ones neck (at least for flappers), it would not be unreasonable to guess that he may have tried it.

But I would have to guess that he was not severaly addicted.

Albert Einstein died about 30 years before crack cocaine first appeared. Perhaps you mean a crackpot, which is a word used to mean an eccentric person, especially one with bizarre ideas. Einstein's ideas were considered bizarre during his lifetime and still are by ignorant people.

Are you kidding? Of course he was on some sort of Central Nervous System Stimulate which was not hard to find at all in his times, there are a variety of plants used in creating Crack, Cocaine and even Methamphetamine, such as the Ephedra Plant, easily could have been imported from the Sahara, and the Coco Plant of course, easily found in the oasis's of Egypt and millions of other places, and of course coffee beans themselves could have played a roll in his advanced knowledge... any stimulant would? thats what there meant to do.

Well, he did have a pipe he liked to smoke " something" out of. But, he also did marry his first cousin and they probably did more than bake together. If they married each other. So did Charles Darwin.
