Hezbollah was created due the Israeli occupation of Lebanon between 1978 and 2000. Before the Israeli occupation there was no Hezbollah (hmmm...kind of rings a bill here at home)

Since their creation they have attacked one American target which was the Marines headquarters in Beirut, plus some kidnapping of American journalists, Preachers, and CIA operatives.

I guess any nation (under foreign occupation) has the right to forge a resistance militia, it is only logical. Our constitution encourages us to fight any kind of foreign occupation through any means available.

However, due to the fact that Hezbollah is fighting Israel (our adopted son) we cannot call them a legitimate resistance group. Instead, we can only call them terrorists to appease our friends (Israel, the Jewish Lobby, The Evangelicals)

In this last war, Hezbollah fired a total of 4,000 rockets at Israel killing around 150 people (only about 43 were civilians). Meanwhile, Israel fired around 130,000 artillery shells not counting the thousands of (laser guided missiles and other kinds of air dropped bombs) killing as many as 1,100 civilians third of them children.

At the end of my answer, I would like to ask this question;

Why do we give our selves the right to be proud of our forefathers in rebelling against England and forming a resistance militia, yet we do not grant the same right to other nations in the case they may be fighting an ally of ours??!!!

Terrorist: one who engages in acts of terrorism
Terrorism: the unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property (military targets notwithstanding) with the intention of intimidating or coercing civilians or governments for religious or political reasons.

If all of those Katyusha rockets were being fired at Israeli military targets, then maybe they wouldn't be considered terrorists (if you don't consider all of their past actions). However, all of the rockets were aimed at civilian targets in an attempt to intimidate the civilians and the government of Israel. There is no arguing the point. Whether or not you agree with Hezbollah, there is no denying the fact that they ARE TERRORISTS.

Founding Philosophy: Hezbollah is an umbrella organization of various radical Islamic Shi'ite groups and organizations which receives substantial financial and philosophical support from Iran. It was founded in 1982 in response to the invasion of Lebanon by Israel that same year, and subsumed members of the 1980s coalition of groups known as Islamic Jihad. The group is led by religious clerics who promote the establishment of an Islamic state in Lebanon. After the attacks of September 11th, Hezbollah is responsible for the next largest anti-American terrorist attack. In October 1983, a truck bomb killed 241 American Marines at the multinational force barracks in Beirut. The following year, a suicide bombing at the U.S. embassy in Beirut killed 17 Americans, including many of the embassy's CIA staff. The group is also thought to be responsible for attacks against US and Jewish targets in Africa, Sweden, Denmark, Thailand, Argentina and the UK. The 1992 bombing of the Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires and the 1994 bombing of a Jewish cultural centre in Buenos Aires are the most well known.

Current Goals: Hezbollah's stated objectives include the establishment of a Shiite theocracy in Lebanon, the destruction of Israel and the elimination of Western influences from the region. Over the last 20 years, however, Hezbollah has become increasingly integrated into the government of Lebanon. The group holds seats in the Lebanese parliament and its political wing runs a variety of social programs, including schools and hospitals, augmenting those of the state. Its military wing serves as a de facto security force in southern Lebanon. The group's spiritual leadership officially denies links to al Qaeda. In December 2004, the United States added Hezbollah's al-Manar television station to its list of terrorist organizations.

Due to its presence in mainstream Lebanese politics and the vast array of social services it provides in southern Lebanon, some European governments have resisted considering Hezbollah as a terrorist organization, to the consternation of the Bush administration. Putting Hezbollah on official terrorist group lists would prevent them from raising money through charities in those countries. The Netherlands, Italy and Poland, however, have agreed to consider Hezbollah as a terrorist organization.

Absolutely, positively, without a doubt hizballah is a terrorist organization. They have a political arm, but they also have various cells of plain old fashioned blow people up terrorists. I read, write, and speak Arabic, and they are even well-known and labelled as terrorists by all Arab sources I know.
There is no dispute among knowledgeable sources on this, although there is philosophical debate about "one man's terrorist being another man's freedom fighter."
