Check out the August 2006 issue of Seventeen (w/ Lauren Conrad on the cover), it has an article about it, w/ pictures. Heres what it said:
If the inseam is:
12" - ballet flats for a retro look
14" - high heeled ankle boots for a rocker vibe
16" - sneakers for a laid-back feel (try Vans classic slip ons)
But I personally think that flats or heels would look best.

Skinny jeans are extremely versatile. You can wear so many types of shoes with them. With mine I love to wear my open toe patent black leather wedges. I alos love my brown leather 'Kenzie' wedges. Heels or wedges look adorable with skinny jeans. You can wear a pump, wedge, or even a pointy toe. Flats also look great with these jeans too. I have both pairs of these shoes to go with my skinny jeans, and they are fashionable and comfortable.
