Any garden centre will tell you. Watch the weather - some say to wait for rain - some say two dry days are best. Hire a petrol mower first. Then douse the roots.

Great choice - we had a wide paved garden & we got RSI trying to spray all the lines making up those square paving stones! Just pour it on!

You can also buy a fun flamethrower which takes a small gas can, & burn off the weeds. Eco-friendly, but don't wear sandals!

GARDEN THERAPY: Start pulling or hoeing diligently. If you don't, it'll be much worse next year: when weeds bloom, they multiply. You probably notice that your neighbors have the same types of weeds proliferating in their yards. Ours is spread by wind and especially the birds. Throw them in the city waste disposal -- unless you are doing the type of composting that heat the materials to a high enough temperature to kill the seeds. (We don't throw weeds into our worm compost bin).
