i got a trojan virus last nite, what should i do? should i just erase everything and reload my software or is there a better way?

hi, trojan is a disgusting and infamous virus. perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus. but you need to pay for the software.
i also recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.
besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

I would go to www.nortonantivirus.com and look up the specific virus you have. 99% of viruses out there have a fix on there and it's really a lot easier than a total reformat.

Install AVG anti-virus, it's free to download and not very good for virii but extremelly good for trojans and worms.

There are free virus detection programs online. Spybot search and destroy.

download AVG Free and run a complete scan
(make sure its updated first)
AVG will find it, then you can quarintine and delete the infected file
or possiblely heal it
re-formating your hard drive is a LAST resort
