had a birthday party where we went to the movies, but I made my friends pay for themselves? im not rich, but I want to get together with my friends and I havent had a birthday party for 13 years(im 14).

Sure! The point is to celebrate. Be sure to tell them that everyone is meeting INSIDE the theatre after paying their own way in, and you can get together and have fun!

Um... yea... just say that you want to go out with them to the movies for your bday but let them know that they would have to pay for themselves before hand... and if they cant go then they cant go maybe you could also have like a get togethr at the park or somthing where you bought like some punch at like wal mart and some chips or somthing.... so if they didnt have the cash they could still hang out with you and you could see all your friends on your bday and are you jehovah witness or somthing ... you said you never had a b day and u r 14 wow...

I think it would be fine, but I think you probably shouldn't call it a party. I would probably say that I wanted to get together to celebrate my birthday and why don't we go to the movies. That way no one will assume that you're going to pay for them.

It sounds like a good idea, but you should tell your friends up front that you aren't going to pay for them, and that you don't need to give you a present.
