We don't. As a Liberal Democrat, I dislike taxes as much as the next guy. I would certainly eliminate Inheritance Taxes. The government has absolutely no right to the wealth of private citizens. I also detest the taxes placed on winnings, which simply seem like legislated theft.

Where I would disagree with you is that I don't think you reduce taxes to the extent that Bush has. Leave taxes where they are and don't raise them. Bush has outspent any former President and our defense budget leaves every other nation in the dust at an obscene $459 Billion. Russia's is around $98 Billion.

Our nation lacks for some many things in the areas of infrastructure and social programs, because so many compassionate conservatives can't stand anything that smacks to them of welfare. So our country rots from within. What then will there be left to defend???

And Liberals do not want to punish hard working Americans. We simply believe that the governments State, Local, and Federal owe the American people so much more than tanks, bombs, subs, fighter planes, etc., etc, ad nauseum.

Everyone has bills, even countries. Have you been to Mexico or country with minimal taxes, the roads suck, the police are corrupt because they aren't paid well, things just fall a part. So in order to have a beautiful functional country, taxes are a necessity. Now we have three pridominant groups. The poor, the middle class and the rich. The poor need help themselves and can't carry the majority of the burden. The middle class, although more numerous are wide spread and if you tax them too much as we are doing now, the bottom of the pool will end up poorlike and the middle of the group will never have a chance to BE rich. Now as to why we tax the rich so much. 1) They can afford it, they 90% of our wealth. 2) What we tax them and what they pay are two different things, with accountants, loopholes and writeoffs, trust me they don't pay percentagewise what they should. Some even get money back. Bottomline, someone has to pay and they are best to pay it. Taxes have never broke a man that was rich and knows how to make and retain money. But they have seriously hurt middle income families.

Inheritance taxes are good for the nation because it prevents too much accumulation of power in too few families.Without inheritance taxes kicking in on estates over 5 million dollars we will stuck with generations of Bushes, Clinton's, (insert a few other D or R names here) and their billionaire backers and controllers.

inheritance taxes also slow the growth of landed gentry that makes their money from raising rents and rates. Wipe part of the slate clean let the millionaires educate their children and see if they can really run a business that produces more than rate increases because their father or grandfather set them up.

Because it makes sense through economics. There are far more people in the working class than the rich, so if the working class had more money they would spend more money, making the rich richer and keeping a healthy economy. It is good for the hard working people since the rich don't need to be rewarded for being successful they already are rewarded, the working class does need to be rewarded since they are closer to poverty and it is harder for them to make ends meet.

it truly is illustrative of leftist effortless-mindedness to work out comments alongside with, "tax cuts blow holes interior the deficit--we won't be able to 'have the funds for' them", or " we won't be able to have a tax decrease except we stumble on a way pay for it." in spite of the teachings of heritage, liberals won't be able to draw close the perception of a dynamic economic equipment in which lowering tax prices will improve economic interest and brings more beneficial gross sales to the authorities. this isn't a theory, it truly is a undeniable reality. in the time of President Reagan's administration, appropriate tax prices were decrease from 70% to twenty-eight%, and gross sales to the authorities particularly a lot doubled in 8 years. Leftists do not favor to talk about it, yet even as Clinton signed off on a help in capital constructive factors taxes, gross sales from cap constructive factors transactions higher--because the decrease tax prices inspired more beneficial transactions. instead, they strive against to inform us that income tax fee will improve are the reason behind Clinton's solid economic equipment--fairly laughable. the purely different reason in the back of liberals' concepts-set about tax cuts is they particularly recognize the business advantages of tax cuts, yet received't flow there because they could particularly punish the wealthy than improve the business equipment.
