odds are it's just irritated from your clothing/excersize any number of things. a navel is one of the hardest piercings to heal oddly enough and it takes usually 9 months! to be considered healed due to so much abuse. keep doing the soaks and be sure its not getting banged around-maybe gym class?

If its red it could be infected. Are you doing sea-salt soaks? They will help. It takes a long time for a belly-button piercing to fully heal. It usually takes 3-4 months to heal, but it can take up to 12 months for some people to heal.

yes its normal to be red around the piercing if it is as fresh as you say. Remember to wash it in salt water 2-3 times aday till its healed which could take up to 6 months.

Your piercer should have given you a list of care instructions to avoid it getting infected.

I suggest you visit http://www.tribalectic.com/Home.asp and read aftercare information.

Yeah it's normal. Belly buttons take 6-8weeks to heal, and it's normal to be red and sore - you're moving about quite a bit, and that irritates it. Just be sure to clean it like you should, and you should be fine. (Says me, just got another new piercing, and I'm not up to scratch with cleaning lol shh)
