All birthdays are considered family holidays.

Only birthdays of important people like Jesus or George Washington are considered national holidays.

I used to think of my birthday as a holiday. But as I get older it's just another day.

Yeah, they are. But not a public one. In Greece, your name day is treated real special. Everyone goes round to the people whose name day it is and gives them presents. But birthdays are starting to become more popular. (Oh, I'm not greek, that's just something some greek lady told me one dinner). But it's not an official day off work. So.. wait.. maybe a birthday *isn't* a holiday. Because.. a definition of a holiday is an official day off work.. oh.. well.. voyage of self discovery..

Only if you're famous. Though I think you should get a paid holiday on your own birthday, as a kind of present from the company you work for.

Mine is, as I was born on New Years Day and also my son's who was born on Halloween (trick or treat?)
But, really, everyone's birthday cannot be deemed a holiday; we would then have a holiday everyday, and they would no longer be special occasions.

I CONSIDER MY BIRTHDAY A HOLIDAY BUT IT IS NOT A NATIONAL DAY AS I AM NOT A FAMOUS PERSON OR A SPECIAL EVENT IN THE EYES OF THE WORLD BUT IN THE EYES OF GOD I AM A VERY SPECIAL HOLIDAY FOR HE CAUSED ME TO BE HERE AND I CELEBRATE THAT VERY SPECIAL DAY THAT I WAS BORN AND YOU SHOULD ALSO BE VERY PROUD THAT YOU WERE SELECTED TO BE BORN AND LIVE YOUR LIFE THAT ONE WOULD BE PROUD OF AND FOLLOW JESUS AND YOU CAN'T GO WRONG
