IP (the Internet, thus) only works well TWO WAYS
for every packet coming down (your 6000 kbps) there is a little bit going back / up (your 384 kbps)
the relation is about 20 down to 1 up and this is pretty much what you have; will be fine, unless you intend to s-h-a-r-e... in that case, your browsing will come to a crawl :-o :-& :-< :(

PS: 6 Mbps (1.5 MB/s) is VERY good; many sites (AOL / Yahoo, to name but a few) will not use it up;

This is the maximum rated download/upload speed. It is not a guarantee that you will actually get this, since you don't know how many others are connected thru the same pipeline.

The download speed is very fast, but the upload speed is too slow.

If you need to send stuff out (email, uploading videos etc), be prepared to wait.

Ask your provider what is the committed information rate (CIR). This is the guaranteed speed.

Yeah its ok, its just a basic cable connection. If you got Comcast Cable then thats the speed you should be around. Nothing special, but the upload is REALLY BAD. download speed is decent, 6000 kb's traslates to about 750kb max download speed. So its ok.

psh, not compared to my max speed of 1200KB per second. and you meant to say 6000Kbps/384KBps

Kb is kilobits, and KB is kilobytes. but i'm assuming you have DSL, which is pretty good.
