i am 35 wks pregnant, spent yesterday in the hospital, the doctor said the placenta was fine, he thought it was probably my cirvix, the blood alternates from fresh red look, to brownish red, then i passed a small blood clot and it has been a watery pink...like its fresh blood, but diluted, anyone ever have this problem? how serius? i was having regular contractions while in the hospital, but they got them to stop. I DONT WANT TO GO BACK TO THE HOSPITAL, unless this could hurt the baby, i have 3 kids here at home that need me, and the doctor said that the baby was fine as far as heart rate, and security goes. i have heard that some women leak amniotic fluid slowly toward the end of pregnancy instead of a gush like most when your in labor...

As an RN and a mother of 5 any type of clotting or red bleeding is a sign you need medical attention. You need to call your OB ASAP and see what he/she says. Amniotic fluid is clear that is what they look for if it is bloody or cloudy that can show a sign of fetal distress. Please call your OB! Good Luck and Congrats!

ok people can have spotting all the way thru pregnancy as long as its a brown its normally fine if its a bright red color then there could be a problem.
the thing with late pregnancy is things change so fast... just keep checking for any changes that was different from your visit at the hospital,

It could have been pre term labor beginning if they had to stop the contractions.

If you are preggers, especially if you are pretty far along, call 911 if you have any form of bleeding at all.
