If you think of it, we do not truely allow any President to take a real Vacation. They are always in contact with other leaders, keeping their finger on the pulse of whats happening around the world wiht daily breifings and such.
Every President we have had, by the time they finished their first term, or second with some, age greatly because of the mental load they carry. I was not a Clinton fan, but one thing I can say for sure, the media dont give these people enough credit where credit is due and I for one am glad to have a strong President in office post 911.
Now, bring JFK back and I will be happy.

I agree with your logic. The less he's in Washington, the better for the country.
But the vacation thing needs to be dealt with. The Presidency is the most important job in the land and it's 24/7 last time I looked. The prez lives plenty well and should be fine with 10 days off like 90% of other Americans.
On the downside, every time GWB goes on vacation something terrible happens....9/11, Katrina. Maybe he should just do his job.

Do you all seriously think that a president ever gets a real vacation??? All he is doing is working in Texas, with a few more chances to relax, which every single president could use. He still recieves security briefings, stays up to date on current events, entertains foreign dignitaries, and holds press confrences. Whether or not you think that he is doing a good job, he is still acting as president either in D.C, Camp David, or Crawford, TX.

I believe its more about that he took the vacation at such a time with the Israel Hezbollah conflict still a problem, not so much that he took a vacation.
Of course I agree that it is better that hes not in D.C., but it is worrying that Cheney or Condie might be up to some troublemaking of their own.

Why do we criticise celebrities in the minitunae of their lives, when we'd all do pretty much the same thing in their positions?
When you become famous you sell your soul to the public domain, and open yourself up to scrutiny. Besides - Bush couldn't care less what people think about him.

It's just fun to point it out. Especially in the beginning of the war on Iraq, he decided to go out and play golf for 2 WEEKS!

Because 384 days (as of August 2006) is too much vacation - especially when he winds up being the bottleneck that leaves the government awol when it should be performing.

Because out of one year (any year) of him being in office, he is in the Oval Office for approximately 3 months out of a year, if that.
