I've read the first five Georgia Nicolson books. I find myself laughing at them. If you understand British English (as I do), it's just hilarious.

I read "Alice, I think". Is this one of the books you're thinking of? The author is Susan Juby. I enjoyed the first one, I would definitely go and read a sequel. I have seen a small bit of the Canadian comedy tv series, but I was worried that the series would focus on the sequels that I haven't read, and I didn't want to spoil it for myself, so I haven't watched any of the following episodes.

I really enjoy the Georgia Nicolson series. Yes, they're silly. Yes, they're funny. Yes, they're on the lighter side of YA lit...but they're just so much fun. But it's the kind of series where you'd have to read them in order to make much sense of them. The glossaries build on one another for example.
