I would let him there on the couch and if he's dumb enough to get drunk the night before he needs to go to work, then let him be late. After a couple of times of getting in trouble by his boss, he'll realize that he should wait until he has the next day off to go out drinking. He's an adult, you are not his mother. If he makes a mistake like that, then he should bear the responsibility of his actions and learn from them. He should have enough brain function to realize that getting drunk and passing out on the sofa is not a smart thing if he has to get up to go to work the next day. Ask yourself this question though, Do you want to live with this for the rest of your life? This may seem like a harsh treatment, but hopefully he learns his lesson. I wish you luck.

I would set an alarm for a bit earlier than normal -- in case he's hard to wake in the a.m. or possibly slow moving... and then curl up with him on the couch -- so if he wakes up in the middle of the night, you can steer him toward bed and make sure he's okay.

Men go silly when the're drunk don't they? When my hubby has had a few and falls asleep I can't wake him up and he calls me John????
I'd leave him if I were you and wake him in the morning when the drink has worn off a bit. Before work.
Good luck though

Leave him there all night, he'll have one hell of a stiff neck in the morning and may think twice about doing it again. How much has he had to drink ? Make sure it's not enough to vomit, choke, die etc.

If you wake him up once, just kiss him on the cheek and tell him that you're leaving. If he asks the next day, just tell him that you did wake him up and that he just didn't remember. It works 94% of the time.

If he's comfortable and his body isn't in such a way he'll wake up sore. Let him sleep. If when he wakes in the morning he ask you why you left him. Explain and ask him if next time he wants you to wake him.

Take him to bed, the brief nuisance this will cause you will more than make up for the potential mess you'd both face tomorrow morning.

Hmmm my partner does this frequently, I have learnt by experience to just leave him, eventually he wakes up in the wee hours and gets in to bed.
