I totally agree with J D. The 1s could equal one dozen. And since 1 dozen is 12, then 12 + 12 is 24. Bye!

2 is the answer.
1x +1x = 24 is a good way to use 12 as an answer.

1+1 = 2 and 2*2 = 4, so 2 + 4 = 24...
