I see alot of thoughtful answers to my Q designed to expose the meaninglessness of namecalling as a way to contrast political positions presumed to be opposed on every idea.

To your brilliance, therandman, so following your flawed thought process, you would have to say 'anybody against the policies of the Bush43 administration is automatically not a patriot.' Yeah right!

Humanist's posted answer is evidence that the switching of labels does occur.

Nope. Conservatives aren't fascists and Liberals aren't communists. Americans barely understand those terms and sure don't ascribe to them.
So Liberals and Conservatives who agree or don't agree with each other are still what they have always been...old news.

satisfied to verify a conservative who would not help the blind anti intelectual hate against liberals and different political combatants. regrettably you're very lots the minority and particularly on Yahoo. the project with conservatives isn't the traditional conservatives themselves; it really is the persons they take heed to. Conservative leaders, of their vilification of liberals, tell particularly some lies about what liberals are meant to trust, help, say, do, etc., that the traditional conservatives finally finally end up hating a fictional enemy. If what the pundits suggested about liberals grew to develop into into genuinely, i am going to be a hardcore conservative. If liberals were so undesirable, those pundits and politicians might want to don't have any reason to lie in any recognize. they could purely recite documents and enable them to face for themselves. particularly they participate in personality assassination and steer sparkling of speaking about actual issue concerns. They make blanket statements that don't have any starting up position in reality. what's worse is that lots of them cloak their rhetoric in a pseudo-Christian guise to act as in spite of the reality that God is via some ability on their ingredient (even inspite of the easy undeniable reality that the Bible fairly tells them to wish quietly and stay out of politics). exceptionally a lot each and every of the lies that are prompt about liberals are actual shattered with the barest attempt at rationality and reason. the documents stand for themselves, yet lots airborne airborne dirt and dirt and airborne dirt and dirt is slung that the documents are like gem stones buried less than quite some ft of airborne airborne dirt and dirt and airborne dirt and dirt. the documents are there, and are glaring and sparkling, yet regrettably you'll want to dig via each and every of the crap it really is spewed with the objective to carry them to tender. even as one digs a handful of it away, the pundits are professional at piling on a lot more beneficial crap, or more beneficial oftentimes, will distract and divert distant from the digging.

rm_a_gedon, you missed the whole point of the question and you have no understanding of politics. Fascism is the extreme right and Communism is the extreme left. Communists and Fascists are total opposites. Hitler and Mussolini were even more anti-communist than they were anti-Jew.
It's this kind of ignorance that makes the country vulnerable to fascism.

Liberals are socialists.
Socialists when the process fails become Communists or Fascists.
So we should call Libs, Socialists, Communists, Nazis, Fascists
and conservatives should be called free men.

if mares eat oats and doe's eat oats,do little lambs eat ivy?
A lable is a lable is a lable.word used to define the "enemy"hopefully nobody is completly and fully just one of these lables.people need to o-pen their minds and think, not say,oh he's a lib,or shes a neo con,and dicount them right of the bat.the polarization of we Americans is what keeps the Corpratist in charge! there is little difference between the two partys, they are both supported by special interest groups and don't care a hoot about you or me.

No.
Even a one-dimensional spectrum has grandularity.
While the Nolan chart, suggested by Dennis Fargo above, may not be a complete political compass (a realitic one would require more dimensions) it is a good place to start.

We should get away from the two sided trap and look at things more fully. Left, right, authoritarian and libertarian. See where you are by taking the quiz.

Ought we? Has the name calling actually solved anything thus far? I suspect we call them intelligent for being able to pick the diamonds out of everyone else's bullshit.
