Because few western businesses or politicians have the courage to stand up to that wretched regime when there's money to be made. Even worse was the western internet company which gave the Chinese government the name of one of their Chinese users - he went to jail for posting online criticism of the government.

imagiine you have a company and for every product you sell you make 1 dollar profit.now imagine if every chinese person bought just 1 of your product.chinese population is over 1 billion,meaning you will make over 1 billion in profits.now imagine you were google and faced with the dilema:money or free speech??and anyway,google is run by americans,why would america care about the rights of the chinese??china isnt giving america oil remember.

Because yahoo is a corporation and a corporation is there to make an AWFUL lot of money, without any of the frivolous things such as morals and standards, belief in freedom of expression, etc.

Maybe cause china doesn't have free speach like the USA does. If i'm understanding your question right. Cause they sure don't have the freedom of religion like we do here in the USA.
