There is no mistaking the two.
If someone says they made a mistake it was because they really wanted the "wrong'un".

I had a friend who did that to a girl he was kinda seeing. In his car behind a club in Germany, she mounted him facing away, up it went, in what he thought was her "precious", no problems.
He then felt around the front to "rock the boat" when he found he had entered the tradesman's entrance, as easy as throwing a mars bar into the Dartford tunnel.
I know what you are thinking, classy bird. He married her a year later!
