I am a new graduate that just graduated this summer and I just got offered a position in a hospital in Arizona. I don't have enough finances to relocate there and I don't have anyone to help me financially. I am presently not working. Does anyone no where I can get assistance financially or can anyone tell me what are my options. I greatly appreciate your help.

Ask if the hospital offering the position can include relocation money upfront in exchange for a slightly lower salary over the first year, increasing to the amount of the original offer by the second year. If you want money, try to get approved for a personal loan. Otherwise, inventory your possessions and decide if you can sell anything to give you enough money to make this move. Get some sort of a job in the meantime, you were smart enough to get your degree, surely you are smart enough to do something temporarily. You degree doesn't mean that you only can work in that field for the rest of your life, and if you have to take a position elsewhere for a month or two to save up money for a move, then it might be what you need to do.

How much money do you think you need to move? I moved from Michigan to Texas last year for $700, and I could have done it for less had I sold or given away more of my possessions before leaving. If you ask the hospital to provide you with assistance in finding a home or roommates even, then you could go for the cost of a bus ticket and shipping a few boxes of clothes and other personal effects.

There are no easy options. Your choices:
1. Use your credit card for relocation expenses
2. Take out a payday loan (they charge outrageous interest). A lot of "checks cashed here" places offer them
3. Ask your employer for a relocation bonus or an upfront paycheck.
4. Get a short-time part time job such as bartending or waitressing at a wedding, conference or a large party to earn some cash.
5. Consult local (Arizona) craigslist (craigslist.org) to find inexpensive housing or roomate.

I'm sorry dear...but you're expecting too much of the world. The first answer that was "hehe", is pretty much how it is. The government won't help you, and there is no agency that gives general assistance anymore to single people. You're better off trying to get a pay day loan or using credit, or taking out a short term personal loan to get you in position. Sorry. There's no magic help just because you're having a hard time. This is America and we believe in the almighty capitalism for God's sake (sarcasm, but truth). Good luck.

Hate to say it but you are going to have to get a job and earn it yourself. Nobody is just going to hand you the money and tell you to go about your merry way. Life is tough, I'm only seventeen and I work and pay my own bills. So just do what you've got to do and work your way up. Good luck and Congrats
