I would probably upgrade the RAM if you have norton (uses a lot of memory especially new versions). But I would also use system maintenance software from WINDOWS like DEFRAGMENTER AND DISK CLEANUP and System check. If it doesnt work, then try upgrading ram. First use DISK CLEANUP then SYSTEM CHECK and then DEFRAGMENTER.

Another thing, dont download a lot from the internet and do not use that much of the harddrive, usually when you have a lot of info (especially programs) like that you are bound to get your computer slower. Just delete some of the programs you do not need as they usually run in the background using up ram.

hi, there maybe virus in your computer. perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus. but you need to pay for the software.

i also recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:

Search in google for: Easycleaner
Download it from download.com
Run all the options, delete anything that comes up (dont worry there is always an undo button). Restart your computer.

Still slow? go to updates.windows.com ... download anything they say is a update.

Computer Slow

Download and then run startup.exe (FREEWARE) at:

http://www.mlin.net/startupcpl.shtml......

Can't live without it and windows...

Then disable and/or uninstall whatever u don't need.

Other things to try:

1 - Disk Cleanup (removal of temp files, cookies, etc.)
2 - Defrag
3 - Registry Cleanup (CAN BE VERY RISKY!)

FROM A HARDWARE PERSPECTIVE THE BEST AND MOST COST EFFECTIVE POSSIBLE UPGRADE (IN GENERAL) IS THE ADDITION OF MORE MEMORY (RAM).

ALL ELSE FAILS - RELOAD YOUR O/S (WINDOWS) AND THEN REINSTALL ALL OTHER PROGRAMS YOU NEED/USE!

You need to Defrag your computer, what that does is compress files and folders and place them in order.. But before you Defrag make sure that you run a DISK CLEAN-UP first ..
