Don Zimmer put Pedro in that no win situation.
Yeah, when Clemens throws at Piazza, to them it was all part of the game...they wanted Mikey P to just get over it and stop "Whining" about being knocked out.
But when Pedro throws at Yankees........
And Carrie..Pedro is not a douche bag. Zimm was sitting in the dugout, Zimm ran on to the field, Zimm went after Pedro....What was Pedro supposed to do?? Run? Pedro didn't "throw" anyone down...Pedro pushed him aside as he took a step the otehr way.
The old guy landed on his face...
Zimm is a tough old guy, but he has no business going after Pedro especially after his own comments about Clemens throwing at Piazza.
Oh no....you can't do that! That's dirty baseball....
I've hated the Yankees ever since.

2003 ALCS, game 3, Saturday afternoon, at Fenway. The fight broke out in a late inning. Don Zimmer, former Red Sox manager and then Yankee benchcoach, was about 70 years old. Zimmer charged out of the dugout after Pedro and Pedro dropped him. Zimmer later apologized for his inappropriate behavior. Pedro said that he had been acting in self defense.

It was Don Zimmer. Not Zimmerman, just Zimmer. He was the a bench coach; a bench coach is basically an assistant coach. The brawl happened in boston.

It was in Fenway I think, and it was Zimmer that he threw down. It was just a regular season game though, not the playfoffs- I think.
