absolutely. If you're living in a group home, you probably have a case worker. Why not talk to him or her about your problems? They might have suggestions about improving your situations. maybe you need a new place to live or a new job.

I never want to be with anyone with a bad attitude. Someone's negative views can not only make you feel depressed but you will have lack of enthusiasm. However, on the other hand, if this person has an upbeat positive attitude. it would make you on top of the world feeling the same way.

You are a product of the environment you frequent--negativity breeds it's own-the only way to escape that type of scenario would be to inject some positive things into this madhouse environment.Positive interjections would breed other positive things around you-focusing on the positive will put you more at peace with those around you and allow you to overlook their shortcomings and frailties; the condition of most, I'm afraid, is to dwell on negativity.Good luck to you!

Yes. haven't you ever seen the Debbie Downer sketch on saturday night live. People with bad attitudes can kill the fun of anything. While people with good attitudes can light up a room. Though really happy people can also be annoying sometimes.

Suggest you look yourself in the mirror...are you a malcontent yourself? The tone of your note denotes that behavior. Not to rain in your parade but I noted that negative people navigate to negative people; the same is true for optimists.
Food for thought!

Other people's attitudes definitely affect you. If you're hanging out with a bunch of emo kids, it's hard to be smiling, but if you're hanging out with a bunch of uber happy people, you'll feel happy too.

sure peoples attitudes can effect others, one of my goals is to make sure that i am doing the 'next right thing' and not reacting to someone. asking myself 'would i normally behave or think in this manner?' if not, i'm reacting to a situation, i have a choice, no one can make me act a certain way unless i let them

Yes, it can. Our attitude affects other people for example. The only way we can change other people is to change our own behavior. We have a powerful opportunity to affect other people. Often we think we can just "make" other people change, but if we change, then it changes how they react to us. Think about it .... it works.
