Because some guys think of women as nothing but tools to get to sexual pleasure. The use the term chick because they attempt at calling you a cute, small, petite, sex toy. of course there are exceptions. If the person calling you chick is under 15, then don't worry, there just being sucked into modern pop culture.

There is a long history of nicknames for women.
Seems each Country has it's own, in Australia, it's sheilas, in others there are many, from Skirts to chicks, to babes, Honey's etc.
It's a fond nick for them, in the last Century in the mid fifties, they were called Dames, affectionately.
I'm sure there are dozens I have missed, but you may hear frim others on this subject.

Sorry, Pags, but chicks is a term used to call a girl cute by some males. If you hate the term, then apparently you aren't a chick.
