I think birth control is very effective (like 99.9%) effective IF the person takes every pill at the same time when they are supposed to. I had a friend in college who thought she was on birth control, but she would miss a day here and there and was not regular with it. She ended up pregnant, but she couldn't really blame the birth control.

Personally, I don't like Tri-Nessa, and I pay extra for the brand name. I think I have less side effects and am more regular with OrthoTriCyclen. As far as them both preventing babies, I think they do the job..
