There is a product called MILSTOP it is really concentrated backing soda. I use it in my garden center. You can buy it at Agways,Blueseals, and Greenhouse supply stores, like Griffin Greenhouse Supply or Milokowski"s
. Itworks very well and is safe for food crops!
Also powdery mildew is on top of the leaves first! It doesn't like water.
Downy Mildew is under the leaves, and is light Grey, and loves water,
Make sure what you have before you use the wrong spray!

Actually the best treatment is not a chemical believe it or not.

Powdery mildew is caused by either low air circulation between the leaves, water getting directed on the plants instead of the ground and roots where its really needed and too much rain. A good way to avoid these is to deadhead some of the leaves on the vine so there arent tons all crowded together and the air can get in and circulate. Also, try not to plant them in the same spot each year. Alternate every other year and it will prevent air borne or other diseases to breed and manifest onto your plants...

Sulfur dust is great for powdery mildew.

A fungicide may be needed. However it may be too late this season.
