First, Howie Carr for President in '08! I just had to get that out of my system. Second, the majority of Massachusetts voters are brought up believing that they have to vote only for Democrats at every political level no matter what during their entire lives. There are a lot of strong union families as well as "trust fund yuppies" throughout the entire state of Ma. Many Ma. voters are always very arrogant politically, and they are liberal elitists. Such voters would never even consider taking their Kerry/Edwards stickers off because they assume that Kerry was robbed of victory in Ohio in '04, and they also believe that Kerry will, indeed, run again in '08. The cities of Cambridge, Ma. and Amherst, Ma. are two of the most liberal cities in the entire country. Many voters in Ma. also have political connections as well as state job connections, and the Democrats have been in total control of almost all of state government at every level for over five decades now with very few exceptions (The 1990 state elections saw a temporary two year "bump" for Republicans in many state offices and a couple of U.S. House of Representative seats as a voter reaction to the U.S. House Banking Scandals, and back when Michael Dukakis was Governor during his second term, he completely wrecked the state economy in Ma. to the point where he was considered incapable of remaining Governor by the majority of voters after his second term was over. The Democratic candidate for 1990, John Silbur, came across to many voters as being too mean and thin skinned on a variety of political matters as well as too conservative on most issues while the Republican candidate, Bill Weld, was much more liberal on social issues, spoke more clearly and better than Silbur, and came across as having a much better overall personality compared to John Silbur. Bill Weld won the Governor's seat in 1990, and the Republican's kept winning the Governor's/Lt. Gov. seats ever since. The Governor and Lt. Gov. run together as one ever since a change in the state rules awhile back. From the 1990 elections on, the Republicans have had better overall candidates for Governor in Ma. who keep having better personalities than their Democratic opponents.)

It's to let people know they did not vote for the idiot in the White House. I have not seen any stickers lately for Bush/Cheney. I guess they aren't proud of that anymore.

I know what you mean. I had one on my car and I am so embarrassed. I've tried to remove it, but those Democrats just won't accept that they've lost. Next time I'll use a Republican sticker..

Well, first off, once you put a bumper sticker on, it's a pain in the patoot to take it off again, so I think most people just leave it out of sheer laziness.
Secondly, it's more of a statement, like it says to others, "I did not vote for that joke of a president we have right now".
