Dec. 26: JonBenet Ramsey, 6, is found dead in the basement of her Boulder, Colo., home. Patsy Ramsey says she found a ransom note demanding $118,000 for her daughter.
Dec. 31: Ramsey family hires attorney, publicist and investigators.
1997
Feb. 24: Ramsey spokesman says family members know they are "at the top of the list of possible suspects."
April 18: District Attorney Alex Hunter says Ramseys are under an "umbrella of suspicion."
April 30: Ramseys interviewed by police in first formal sessions.
May 14: Two detectives, including the first to arrive at the Ramsey home, are removed from the case.
Oct. 10: Police Chief Tom Koby admits mistakes made early in the case.
1998
June 23-25: Ramseys are questioned by police, their first interviews in more than a year. JonBenet's brother Burke, 9 at the time of her death, is interviewed for six hours.
Sept. 15: Grand jury begins investigation.
1999
Oct. 13: District attorney says no indictments will be issued, cites a lack of sufficient evidence.
2002
Dec. 20: New District Attorney Mary Keenan (now Mary Lacy) takes over investigation and promises a fresh look.
2003
March 31: A federal judge in Atlanta concludes that the weight of the evidence is more consistent with the intruder theory than with the theory that Patsy Ramsey killed JonBenet.
April 7: Lacy issues a statement agreeing with the judge.
June: Retired detective Tom Bennett is hired by the Boulder district attorney's office to lead a refocused investigation.
2004
June 4: The Ramseys' attorney says DNA found in JonBenet's underwear did not match any samples in an FBI database of convicted violent offenders.

Aug. 16: Lacy says a suspect in JonBenet's slaying has been arrested in Thailand.

It happened about 10 years ago a beauty pageant winner she as 5 or 6 and it was on Christmas Night they never found the killer they say the parents were involved. It got a lot of TV play because she was in pageants all the time.Plus check yahoo news..

You must have been a little kid yourself when it happened, cause it was such a story.
Little girl murdered in her own home.
Everyone was a suspect connected with her. Well almost,except for the older brother who was in college at the time.
Father was suspect. He owned his own company. Meaning rich.
Mother was suspect. A former beauty pagent contestant.
Mother died of cancer.
Murder mystery not solved.
The crime scene was contaminated,and a lot of things happened to mess up finding the true criminal.
A very sad case indeed.
Little Jon Benet was a professional beauty contestant herself.
Who knows what her future would have been like...the victim of a sex crime.
The nation did weep for her and her senseless death.

on christmas day, the family came home from dinner down the street at friends to prepare to go to the cottage the next day. the 2 kids were put to bed, and the parents went to bed at about 10pm. someone broke into their basement and either went into the 6yr olds bedroom and took her, or bumped into her downstairs. he tried to kidnap her and left a ransom note inside. but he ended up killing the child and dumped the body in their cellar and climbed out a window. unfortunatly, the investigation was heavily dependent on the parents who were pretty much driven insane by the murder. some gross idiot claimed he did it but it was just for attention. it was never solved. no one has been charged and people still blame the family members. which is very disgusting as no one could ever do what was done to cover up an accident or murder.

Ok 6 year old beauty queen kidnapped on Christmas day 10 years ago. Ransom note found on stairs. Ask for 118,000 which was the exact figure of fathers x-mas bonus that year. no one ever searches the house. many hours later the father and friend search house and find childs body. she had been murdered. focus goes on parents. case becomes huge because da says parents are soul suspects. crazy rumors that mom did it because child wet bed and other crap like that. now 10 years later man is arrested for murder. says he was in love with child yadda yadda yadda. sad part mother died in june with cloud of suspicion still hanging over her and family. case was so huge because child had won so many beauty pagents. you can read up on case all over the internet.

10 years ago a little girl was murdered in her own home with no sign of forced entry. (very brutaly) the killer has never been cought, and i suspect (pun intended) that the latest person to turn himself in is not the killer either.
