Seems to me he's just nutcakes crazy. (Especially since his wife claims he was with her all that Christmas. Hard to refute, unless she was in on the deal.)
HOWEVER: If you really wanted to kill somebody, wouldn't a good way to do it be to kill them...then hide out if you can. If you get caught, just confess....but throw several incorrect things into your confession. (Ala Karr...claims he had sex with her, claims he drugged her...which the autopsy disputes.) People will start to think you're just a nutcase, and question your guilt.

He either murdered JonBenet or he lied about murdering her. Either way he is sick, but we can't stop talking about him. If he lied to get attention it has certainly worked.
P.S. he was in a jail in a country known for their bad jails. Saying he murdered her got him out of there and into an American Jail.

some people get obsessed with things like that (remember he was also obsessed with the polly klaas case) for whatever reasons and they drive themselves nuts with it until they think they really are a part of it. like a celebrity stalker who is so in love with a public figure that after a while they start to think they actually know this person and they think the celebrity knows them too because they have convinced themselves that there is a connection. its just a little lack of a grip on reality and they cant tell what is real and what is just in their head.

I think the main reason is the spotlight. But keep in mind, by confessing to her murder, it assures that he will be brought back to the US. If he got jailed in a Thai prison, Lord knows what they would do to him. Castration or worse. They are strict.

I think that some people just want to be famous so bad that they are willing to anything to do it. I live where this guy once resided. Think i'm freaked out? We'll just have to see if this guy is telling the truth or not.

From what I hear on the news he was a
sick-o to begin with. He was obsessed
with her, so that was just another way
to claim possession of her.

because he is sick and twisted....he probably has a fixation about this little girl..and to be close to her, and go down in history he wants to be apart of her murder...so he confessed...he is truly mentally disturbed

some people with severe psychosis will confess to crimes they did not commit, either for attention or because they believe they did it.
