Hi Lulu,

I don't think it's normal. I have had music playing in my head for about 30 years. I mean, complete with lyrics, down to the last detail. My parents were both professional musicians, so I thought that might have something to do with it. I started listening to music from the moment I was conceived. Sometimes, I would really like it to just stop. Most of the time, I just try to switch to some kind of music I like. I just flip out sometimes, wondering why a song from 25 years ago, is the first thing I wake up to. No rhyme or reason to it. Just random. Thousands of titles, complete with lyrics, played flawlessly from start to finish. Classical, pop, country, jazz. Just about everything but Hip Hop. No disrespect intended, but that music is evil, and I should know, since I am filled with music. I have listened to a few of those rap tunes, and the vibrations are just too dark and unhappy.

No, I don't think it is a standard, but I do a lot of hours...I listen to my iPod.

The term for a song getting stuck in your head is an 'Ear Worm', I actually read that on Mayo clinic or some reputable medical site.

Are they songs you know, or just music?
No I do not think it is "normal", but maybe a lot of people hear a lot of stuff, and they are so used to it, they don't even notice it anymore.

Probably not. This happens to me and I hate it. And it'll be a song I don't even like most of the time.

Yeah, it is. That's why I no longer listen to music with words in it. And I sleep a lot better now.
