The Oprah Winfrey Show debuted on on September 8, 1986, and is now in its 25th season. Before that, she presented AM Chicago, which started on WS-LTV on January 2, 1984. This half-hour show proved so popular that it was expanded, nationally syndicated, and became the current Oprah show.
