In military affairs we should be isolationist, however in our global society we need to keep pace with China and India.

Isolationism is more than political relations, it is foremost an economic policy of prohibition of business and industry from dealing with foreign companies in such a way as to bring about joint operations or cross-border financial enterprise. As such isolationism is not just a dangerous policy today, it is an impossible one; since so many U.S. companies are already participating in joint-relations and business relations with foreign companies. Isolationism as a political-social policy of the 1930s led to World War II, which brought the U.S. out as a pivotal world power. As such, I would be difficult to duck our heads in the sand again. I personally don't like the results of globalism, but it cannot now be reversed.

Well I believe that the United States has a lot to offer many other countries. One of those is protection from people or governments that may cause their civilians harm. I don't think I would change that. There are some people that don't appreciate that in other countries, but there are many more who feel they need us. I believe that it is the responsibility of this nation to help whom ever they can.

I'd prefer TOTAL isolationism. It would solve the trade deficit and a few other countries might have a bit more respect for the contributions we've made to the world.

Sure good old fashioned 19th century isolation.
Teddy Roosevelt and the Spanish American war got in this global soup.

I think we sholuld have ALWAYS been isolationist! Lets fix whats broke HERE!! We have far to many sick, Homeless, needy and desperate people in OUR country! If we left others alone, we wouldn't have all this hatred of the United States! We are the greatest country in the world, we always help others, yet we are hated by everyone we help. Why is this? Interference. Lets leave them all alone and lets fix US!! NOW!

I think that would be great. America has no business in other countries affairs as long as it does not affect us.
