For now, take an analgesic specifically for back pain, like Robaxacet. It's difficult to tell whether to apply heat, cold, or both alternating without knowing the cause of the back pain. Inflammation is helped by cold, tension is helped by heat, and chronic back pain usually responds to alternating heat and cold (vascular flush), so for the moment you will have to the judge of whether a hot bath, heating pad is best, or an ice pack. If you can get it under control, see a doctor as soon as possible.

I never knew lower backs heart sometimes but they do hurt sometimes. If so, take a pain killer and get some rest. Apply a cold pack to reduce pain as well. Hope this helps you!

Go the ER. It can be kidney stones or a back injury. Only a Dr. can tell you for sure.
