my computers screen is really dark how do i brighten it - i looked in control panel and did not find out how?

If its like my laptop, Compaq Presario, there should be a Fn key on it. Hold that down and press one of the brightness keys, its usually one of the F keys, like F5 or something.

It's not a computer issue, it's a monitor issue, so control panel won't fix it. There should be buttons right on your monitor. On mine the button to brighten the screen has a little sun under it. Some monitors have these buttons on the side or back. It's just like making your tv screen brighter. Mess with those buttons till it's the way you want it.

I can't give you exact instructions, but all monitors have buttons just under the screen istelf (some odd modles have them on the sides). Experiment with those until you get what you want.

One button will be a menu button, and two others will be movement buttons. You will probably want the brightness/contrast option.

Most monitors have some dials or buttons, either on the front or the bottom front where you can do it, or, you can find the controls onscreen. Might want to break down and read the manual, or, the online help that came with your puter.
