Yes, "sweet" refers to a low content of sulfur.
I would just like to add that a sweet crude is generally more expensive than a sour one. This is because the increasingly tight environmental restrictions on products limit the amount of sulfur (among other things) that gasoline and diesel can contain. Thus, sulfur has to be removed making it more expensive to process sour crudes than sweet crudes.

Sweet crude oil is a type of petroleum. The word sweet refers to small amounts of hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide; sweet crude generally contains less than 0.5% sulfur. This high quality, low sulfur crude oil is commonly used for processing into gasoline and is in high demand, particularly in the United States and China.

Crude oil containing low levels of sulfur compounds, especially hydrogen sulfide [H2S]. The facilities and equipment to handle sweet crude are significantly simpler than those required for other potentially corrosive types of crude oil.
