I served my time, did my tour in the first Gulf War....remember the one that everyone in the world supported??? I even voted for Bush Sr. I support the troops, I do not support the current president nor his policies and will be glad when we are rid of him.
Worse U.S. President ever!!!!!

I have often thought about that since most of those who are Republican are unwilling to serve, and unwilling to come home in a body bag!! They want others to do it for them!

I did my time in one illegal war! If I were young enough I sure and hell wouldn't get burned twice!

All you need to do is look at Bush's cabinet! Not one person ever served in the military and used draft deferments!

Only one or 2 Senators or Congressman have had a child of theirs in the war!

Many in the military identify with conservatives as it gives them there kicked in the head motives. When I was in the Commander in Chief was God! Can you imagine Nixon as a God!

And, ironically, it has been the Republicans who have been cutting VA hospital funds at the tune of 8 Billion, while kids come home missing limbs! Sure tells me their Commander in Chief supports them!

In 20 years they will be as jaded as I am about government!

I SUPPORT W!!! My husband did his time, my father did his time, my uncles all did their time, my grandfathers did their time, and as far back as I know all my Greats did their time. And if I didn't think that women should stay out of combat (ie. Jessica Lynch) I would absolutely LOVE the opportunity to stand for my country!!! And Yes when my boys (7 and 3) come of age I would be honored if they join, even if I don't support the president at the time.
If it comes to our soil I'm all in!!!!!

It might prove that they really support our troops by giving them a break instead of being re-deployed when their tours are supposed to be up. Oh! They wouldn't want anyone to know that they are now elegible for food stamps, either.

good question, if I had firm conviction that my view was right, I would fight in Iraq to defend that view.
Another question would also be. How can they support Bush on Yahoo if they are in Iraq fighting for Bush?

Most who roar for the war will not put themselves on the line physically. No member of the House or Senate has a child in the line of fire in Iraq. If a government is going to try to sell us on a war, shouldn't they send their own flesh and blood before demanding the flesh and blood of others?

I was too old.

I do, however, want to start a kind of safari hunting/adventure company in the middle east where we can kill the animals in the wild.

Any backers?
