Yes, they have what's called the HAARP project which can shoot electro-magnetic rays that bounce off the ionosphere that CAN control the paths of hurricanes.

No, I don't think any government can seriously control the weather (some experiments have been made at steering hurricanes)

The energies are too large to do this. However we do have global warming going on and the consensus among scientists is that we are responsible for half to two thirds of this effect. We must reduce our CO2 emissions but it may be too late.

I think they're controlling the weather by not caring about it.

Global warming is not a myth, and will put us into the next ice age if the government doesn't do something about it.

But then again, why would they create laws asking for better emissions and less pollutions? That would mean we would have to depend on something other than OIL! And of course you know Bush is pro-oil.

no weather is a natural phonomenon, although we have had technology too make it rain where there is a severe drought and to slow the progress of a hurricae of a chemical compound called silver nitrate which has had some success. there are alos experiments going under way to create a thin film of a substance to cover up the surface fo the ocean that will greatly weaken a hurricane. (hurricanes feed off of warm water) and if the warm water cant evaporate then the hurricane will weaken greatly. maybe you can research more on the internet.

The government can reduces the stresses of global warming and the burning of fossil fuels but unfortunately thats not happening =(

The government can't even control itself so how could it control the weather. The have done what was call cloud seeding which did make for more rain but did away with back in the80's as it back fired and the rain ended up where they didn't want it.
The havoc that the weather is throwing at us is nothing more than global warming.

No way. The only thing we have that is strong enough to really control the weather is a nuclear bomb. And I'm sure we would all know if the government used one of those.

Weather conditions confusing right now? What do you mean? Things are playing out pretty much like they should around me. We're starting to come out of summer here in the Northern Hemisphere, have you noticed how the days are getting shorter now? We're going to start seeing more hurricanes in the Atlantic basin here soon (september & october are the historical peak periods of activity).

No...that idea that our gov't controls the weather gives our gov't way too much credit. Technology hasn't really gone that far in weather modification. I suggest you read the following links.

No, i do no longer think of any government can heavily administration the climate (some experiments have been made at steerage hurricanes) The energies are too super to try this. although we do have international warming happening and the consensus between scientists is that we are to blame for 0.5 to 2 thirds of this effect. We could decrease our CO2 emissions even though it rather is too previous due.

Hi. Our government has the responsibility to preserve the environment, and this effects the weather. Burning oil is not a good thing.
