about obnoxious people?

it's really hard to be civil and polite around these kinds of people... it seems like they really want to piss almost everybody to dignify their existence... why is that?

and what is the best way to do when you get so unfortunate to ever bump into one?

and obnoxious people really know they are obnoxious, don't they...

word to the wise: whoever defends obnoxious people and then turn things around and say that WE are the ones with the problem and that we're being oversensitive---- THAT person is probably obnoxious themselves!!!!!!!!!! ;-)

I think they do know that they are obnoxious, and I also think that it is best to appear unaffected by their ignorant attention seeking behaviors, unfortunately when you ignore them it seems to fuel the flame, and they become more obnoxious in an effort to gain your attention. What to do? Unfortunately, you will probably have to put some distance between you and the obnoxious one, which really sucks if you are otherwise having a good time and in a good environment......because once again, these people never seem to get the big picture. They have got to be lonely you know?.........and maybe negative attention is better than no attention? I give?

I'm not too fond of them myself. Basically, I just keep on going/doing whatever as if the obnoxious people aren't there.
Obnoxious people are usually one of two things in my opinion:
1) they have tremendous egos, and their behavior is just their way of saying that they are better than others; or
2) they are screaming out for friends, and never learned any positive social skills.

With you on that one. I always find a nice turn of sarcasm does the trick - one that the recipient only realises half a block down the road later. Unless your quip is directed at an American, in which case, the expected reaction may take a few weeks.

I try and be nice to them, but if they are rude to me or friends, I call them on it and say something to the effect of, "hey...sorry you're having a bad day or life, but don't take it out on us!" or..."I'm treating you with respect, so please do the same for me"...

Ignore them if that doesn't work, because most times, people act like that to make themselves feel better and when they don't get the attention or they get called on it, they usually stop.

A) who are you to judge they are obnoxious? you get a round trip ticket to their mind lately?

B) Maybe your too sensitive and self centered, eh? Wanting everyone to act a certain way for your brittle emotions?

C) If you dont like it, tell them to ef off. If they get sassy - punch em. What ever happened to the good ol days?

JUST TELL EM YOU DONT HAVE TIME TO TALK. AND IF YOU HAVE THE MOST UNFORTUNATE THING AND HAVE TO WORK WITH EM, WELL I AM SORY YOU ARE JUST SCREWED. I USUALLY JUST TELL EM HEY MAN, I NOT INTERESTED. AND THEN GUY OR GIRL THEY THINK I AM BLOWIN EM OFF. SO IT WORKS FOR ME OR YOU CAN JUST AVOID THEM. SOMETIMES I JUST ROLL MY EYES TILL THEY QUIT TALKIN OR I MIGHT EVEN START MIRRORING THIER BEHAVIOR, THAT GETS EM EVERYTIME

we don't like cry baby people, and there just seems to be so many, but you guys seem to think that every one in the world should be the same, all fluffy and cotton candy kisses....puke. best advice if your not strong enough to stand up to who ever is bothering you, then keep your mouth shut. talking smack might make your problem worse

I JUST ROLL MY EYES AND GET THE HELL AWAY FROM THEM...I WORK WITH THE PUBLIC FOR THE LAST 30 YRS AND I HAVE ENCOUNTERED ALOT OF NUT-JOBS...GUESS THEY DIDN'T TAKE THEIR MEDS THAT DAY!
