Depends on which type of ton: A metric ton would be 1000 kg. An American ton (2000 lbs) would be about 907.185 kg. I believe there's a third type, but I dont know it's value.

In the SI system which is now used in science internationally, the ton is taken to be equal to 1000kg exactly,ie
1 Ton = 1000kg

Note:
In the old Imperial system 1ton (some times called long ton) was 2240 pounds which worked out as 1000.16kg

There was also the American ton (some times called short ton) which was 2000 pounds or 907.4 kg

1 short ton = 907.18474 kilograms

For any conversion question, just go to Google, type the word "convert" and what you want converted.

For example, "Convert 1 ton to kg"
