Is this an OCD or common sense?

There was this huge tarantula-type spider by my mailbox-it got me a little on edge.

Not spiders but I check for palmetto bugs after it's rained before I get into bed. I do that because after it rains were always find palmetto bugs in our house and once I get into my bed and ther was a giant palmetto bug in my sheets. There was chaos. Those things creep me out.

I check in the shower every morning now since moving to the East coast. I swear every type of bug lurks out here. That one is just common sense. However, I once had a roommate who would check under his bed every night with a flashlight, then jump into bed (literally) and check again, just to make sure he didn't miss any. He was definitely OCD. In fact, I was deathly ill once and he made me get out of bed to go kill a spider he thought he saw crawl behind the washer/dryer. He owed me big time for that.

Common sense- the brown recluse hides in dark areas like the inside of shirt sleeves. It's always best to shake out clothes that you haven't worn in a while before just sticking a body part inside.

Story: A guy was putting on a shirt that he had in his closet. He didn't realize that the recluse was inside, and it bit him. After a while, his skin started to react to the bite, and he had to go to the E.R. asap!

No, but I did when I was a kid, and it was a legitimate thing to do, our house always had spiders in it. I checked shoes, the toilet, covers, everywhere.

I don't in my shoes or the toilet, but sometimes under the covers.

But I, truthfully, don't know what OCD means. someone tell me?

A little OCD, unless you happen to be living in a tent in the desert.

Common sense except for the toilet part. (One time I left my soda and when I came back, I took a deep swig. I felt something cruchy and hard...enough said)
