1. It is not abnormal, but not always the case. Some people get their period in the middle of the day, but think of this: You could get your period any time of day, but you spend about 1/3 of your day sleeping. If you get your period in the 8 hours or so that you are asleep, you will notice it when you wake up in the morning. Either way, it is not a problem.
2. Many women do not ever have cramps with their periods. If you do not have them now, there is no reason to think you will get them in the future, but it is possible.
3. No, you do not get your period when you are pregnant, with very few exceptions. There are a few people who continue to have bleeding while they are pregnant that seems to be around the time of their period...but this is VERY unusual and any bleeding during pregnancy needs to be seen by a doctor.

1. I think that it is just a coincidence that you always just wake up with your period. It could be that you started late in the day the day before and the the relaxation of your muscles while sleeping allowed it to flow.
2. Nothing is normal in the first year that you have your period. The length of time between them can be different as can the length that they last. Also, cramps can occur one month and not the next. that fact changes throughout your whole life.
3. A woman does not normally have her period while she is pregnant. Your period flushes out what is in a woman's womb, which would include a pregnancy if there was one. Some women do claim to have their period while they are pregnant, but it is more likely just some spotting from the hormone fluctuation.
I hope this helps.

1. It just means it started sometime during the night, but didn't flow out yet (gravity helps.) Not abnormal at all.
2. I have had cramps exactly once in the 22+ years I have been menstruating. You might just be lucky like me.
3. No, you don't get your period when you're pregnant. Some women experience bleeding when they're pregnant, sometimes even regular bleeding, but it's not by definition a period. Most women don't have this experience and a missed period is frequently the first sign that you're pregnant.

You can wake up and discover your period every month, or like myself, just get ready to fall asleep and it hits. I'm not sure that no cramping is what you would call "normal", but "lucky" sure does sound nice. (I've never had bad cramps, so I'm enjoying it.) Also, I'm pregnant ... and haven't had a period since April 10th & some women do/don't. Some have "spotting" OR bleeding up to around the 6th-8th week of pregnancy, but I think that should be about it. Hope this helps.

Yes, its normal to wake up & have your period. You could be very lucky & not have to suffer with cramps. Yes, you can have a period while you are pregnant. I've had 3 kids & with the first 2 I had my period for 2 months.

Yes completely normal to only find out you have it in the morning. If you are sick and tired of having to try to get stains out of your good underwear by suggestion is this: Start rercording when you get your period and when you get off. Typicallly the average woman, (this is just a standard if you are different that doesn't mean that there is anything wrong) the average woman will start a period then 28 days after that start of the first one will have the next. Getting on some sort of hormaonal birth control helps this predictability a lot. This way you are able to plan when you will have it and you can have a pad on and you don't have to wake up and immediately start trying to find whatever it is that you use to remove stains

I never had cramps and I'm 41. My cycle also never came at a regular time until I was 36. It started at 6 months apart and eventually moved to about 40 days apart. Now they are 30 days apart. Its nice to discover it in the morning because you won't have a "surprise" in the day.
You are lucky to have a place to ask your questions. Keep asking and you will find out that many women have many different experiences and that it all is normal.
We can remember when we started and I'm sure you will get lots of good support. Educating yourself like this will help with the stress you are having about it.
Good luck and welcome to the wonderful world of women.

The answer to the first 2 questions you asked is "YES"..this is normal. You may very well be one of the "lucky ones" who doesn't suffer from PMS/cramping during your period. REJOICE!!! As far as waking up to discover your period...this is not uncommon. During the night your body relaxes and relaxing can initiate a period that is about to start.
To answer question #3...Normally you stop your period during pregnancy BUT I have known many women (patients of mine and friends) who have bled through at least part of their pregnancy.
It is NOT normal to bleed when you're pregnant, so any bleeding during pregnancy should be evaluated by your doctor.

There is one thing I have learnt its that your period comes when and where ever it pleases...so when you know your getting it cause it comes every once a month around the same time be careful of where you are at all times. About haveing cramps I have them all the time but thank god you don't and its shouldn't be a problem if your to worried ask your Doctor if its ok...
