OK, I haven't seen much publicized about this movie until this week, but the whole idea of it just makes me giggle! Is it me, or are they scraping the bottom of the barrel for movie ideas?

It just looks like the type of movie that I would want to get drunk before seeing with a bunch of friends and laughing! But I have a warped sense of humor... ☺

Scraping the bottom of the barrel ???? More like, lifting the barrel, moving the manhole cover sitting below the barrel, taking a dive into the sewer below the manhole and THEN scraping for movie ideas in the muck lying at the bottom of the sewer ...man, I can't believe that they actually produced such a piece of junk of an idea ....Hollywood is sinking even lower than I ever thought it would in the imaginativeness ranking scale :-P

I saw the movie last night at the 10 pm screening. There were two guys talking loudly and telling the characters on the screen what to do. Then the other movie goers yelled at them to shut up and got the usher to shoosh them. That was totally wrong. This movie isn't The Godfather! You need more people yelling and making jokes to enjoy it, and preferably drunk people.
Over all, I would say that the movie was pretty mediocre. It was a mixture of a 70's disaster movie, a creepy horror movie and some kind of down in the 'hood movie. The supporting actors were excellent and there were a few good scenes mixed in with the predictable action format. The editing was really bad; It felt like two movies sewn together.
The snakes were mostly just CGI. I was expecting more comedy. It seemed as though the producers tried to make an adult movie out of a more childish, teenager trashy movie because all of the comedy consisted of CGI snakes biting people in places that you would really hate to be bitten. (by a snake anyway)

i have heard it wasn't that great of a movie, yet it truly is type of the perception. it truly is a nasty action picture, and it would not attempt to play you off and make you imagine that it has any cinematic fee in besides. That, and the purely reason all and sundry said it became to take heed to Samuel Jackson say "Mutha !@#$in' snakes on a mutha!@#$in' airplane!".

surprisingly that movie was very very very good. But if they make a sequel like "Badgers on a Bus" then that's when they're scraping the bottom of the barrel

I saw it last night, and let me just say this: it is everything you would expect from a movie titled Snakes on a Plane.
I can die happily now, because I will never experience anything more awesome than that movie (and I mean that in a so-horrible-it's-amazing way).

I think the plot of this movie is terrible. I wonder why a studio agreed to pay money to make this movie.

One story goes that it actually came about as a result of some "studio types" relating some of the WORST pitches they've ever heard, this being one of them.
