I have a lot of pictures in folders on my computer that I want others to be able to view, but not deleted. I want to be able to add new pictures and I need to be able to modify and delete as well, but I don't want anyone else to be able to. I'm not running NTFS. Any suggestions?

Set yourself as administrator and give them limited user accounts. You can limit their access to files this way.

Or you can go to this download site and review many free parental control programs and file protection programs.

Since you don't use a NTFS file system, you cannot set permission on folders or files. I would suggest you upload you photos on to a website and show them from there.
Since you'll be the only one with the username/password for that site nobody can accidentally delete them.
check www.fotothing.com . It is free and u can upload a lot of pics

have all your data and pics and folders programmed in a back-up disc just in case.
by having that secure password, nobody should be able to access to your files; and delete
anything,

This happened to me recently, there was a virus and the computer shut down. All my desktop info were destroyed. But my saved photos, stuff and intimates labelled as such in folders along with other e-mails were all saved in my yahoo mail. Wished i had that back-up disc.
